Sample scripts

Three Urdu scripts to start from

Each one fits in a single play. Hear it, then copy it into the playground and change it to your own topic.

  • Shorts hook · 106 characters · about 7 s

Three things before you charge your phone

رکیے! اگلی بار موبائل چارج پر لگانے سے پہلے یہ تین باتیں ضرور جان لیجیے۔ دوسری بات تو اکثر لوگ نہیں جانتے۔

Wait! Before you next put your phone on charge, know these three things. Most people don't know the second one.

How to read it: Start on the command (رکیے) and name the number early. Urdu hooks sound natural with the respectful لیجیے forms; keep the whole hook to one breath, two short sentences at most.

  • Story narration · 148 characters · about 10 s

A knock at an old Lahore haveli

That night there was a strange silence in the old lanes of Lahore. Someone knocked three times on the haveli door, but when the watchman opened it, nobody was outside.

How to read it: Kahani and horror channels need slow, even narration. End each picture on a full stop (۔) so the voice settles, and keep the last line of a scene short.

  • Explainer · 132 characters · about 9 s

    Never share your OTP

What is the biggest mistake in online banking? Sharing your OTP with someone. Remember, a bank never calls to ask for your OTP or PIN.

How to read it: Ask the question, pause, then answer it: the question mark lifts the voice and the full stop brings it down. English terms such as OTP read well in Urdu letters (او ٹی پی) or left in Latin letters.

More ready-made scripts, with timings, are in the voice-over script templates.

TikTok and Reels

AI voice for TikTok, Instagram Reels and Facebook Reels

Urdu creators in Pakistan and abroad post on TikTok, Facebook Reels and Instagram Reels, often the same video on all three. Make the voice-over once, put it in your edit, and upload one 9:16 export everywhere.

There is no native Urdu voice yet, so the voice we timed is Alok, a Hindi voice, reading Urdu script: about 927 characters a minute, so a 30-second video is about 460 characters and a 60-second one about 930.

30 seconds

60 seconds

90 seconds

With Alok at 927 characters per minute, measured on 24 October 2026 at speed 1.0 (normal speed). Another voice can run a little faster or slower.

A short money-saving video · 164 characters · about 11 s

Want to cut your summer electricity bill? Start these three things today. Keep the AC at twenty-six, keep the curtains shut during the day, and switch off any fan or light that isn't in use.

How to read it: The question is the hook. The three instructions are commas apart, so the voice keeps moving through the list and settles on the final full stop (۔).

  1. 1

    Save the audio

Sign up free, generate the script in the dashboard and tap Download audio to save a WAV file. Make one voice-over and use the same exported video on all three platforms.
  2. 2

Add it in your video editor

Import the saved file into CapCut or VN:
    • CapCut: tap Audio, choose to upload audio from your device rather than the built-in library, then drag the clip into place on the timeline. CapCut's guide to adding audio.
    • VN: in the music library, open Yours, tap the ⋮ (More) menu and choose File App to import the file. Tap the music clip on the timeline to set its volume. VN Help: Import music and audio.
  3. 3

    Post it on TikTok

In the TikTok app, tap the + (Add post) button at the bottom, tap Upload, pick the exported video and follow the screens to post (TikTok Help).
  4. 4

Post it as an Instagram reel

Keep the project vertical (9:16) and export it. In Instagram, tap + (Create), choose Reel, pick the video from your camera roll, tap Next, then Share (Instagram Help).
  5. 5

Post it as a Facebook reel

In the Facebook app, tap + at the top right of Feed and choose Reel, add the video from your gallery with the Photo button at the bottom left, tap Next, then Share now (Meta Business Help).

These steps follow each app's own pages as checked on 26 October 2026. Button names move between app versions and can differ between iPhone and Android, so if one is not where it says, the linked page has the current steps.

Monetised Facebook Reels: Meta limits unoriginal and reposted content, not AI voices. Its post on combating unoriginal content names voice-over and commentary as ways of adding something of your own, and says that only stitching clips together or adding a watermark does not count. Write your own script and use footage you made or have the rights to.

  • One export, three apps. Export one 9:16 video and upload it to TikTok, Instagram and Facebook; the same voice-over works on all three.
  • Want a Pakistani accent? The voices here are Hindi voices reading Urdu. Clone your own voice from 10 seconds and the clone reads Urdu with your accent.

Voices

Urdu voices for creators

How to

Make an Urdu voice-over video in 5 steps

  1. 1

    Write the script

Write in Urdu script (Nastaliq) for the most predictable reading, with full stops (۔) and question marks where you want the voice to settle or lift. Roman Urdu works too; play a line first.

  2. 2

    Pick a voice

Play the same line in two or three of the voices on this page and keep the one that fits your channel. Use one voice for every video, so viewers learn to recognise it.

  3. 3

Play it, then save the audio

Each play takes up to 220 characters, about 14 seconds of Urdu, and plays in your browser only, so use it to check how the voice reads your lines. To save the audio, sign up free: the dashboard draws on your 10,000 free characters and saves each clip as a WAV file, and the API returns MP3 when you ask for "output_format": "mp3".

  4. 4

Add it in your video editor

Import the saved WAV or MP3 files into CapCut or VN as audio. Lay the clips on the audio track in order, trim the gaps, and line each sentence up with its shot.

  5. 5

    Upload

Export and upload to YouTube, Shorts, Instagram Reels or Facebook. If the voice is realistic enough that viewers could take it for a real person, tick YouTube's altered or synthetic content label. YouTube’s help page explains when it applies.

Commercial use

Use Urdu AI voice-overs on monetised channels

  • Use the audio in YouTube videos, Shorts, Instagram Reels, podcasts and ads, including on monetised channels.
  • This applies to the free tier and to paid credits. No attribution to Sonex Labs is needed.
  • You are responsible for your script, and for disclosing realistic synthetic content where a platform asks you to.

The full wording is in our terms of service.

YouTube

Can a channel with an AI voice be monetised?

Yes, AI voices are allowed. What YouTube limits is mass-produced, repetitive content: videos made from a template with little original work. Its July 2025 update renamed that rule from “repetitious” to “inauthentic” content (YouTube’s monetisation policies).

Write your own script, add your own research or editing, and keep one consistent voice for the channel. Where a realistic AI voice could mislead viewers, use YouTube’s altered or synthetic content label. The monetisation decision is always YouTube’s.

Voice cloning

Your own voice, speaking Urdu

Clone your voice from a 10-second recording. Your clone speaks Urdu, and every other language Pāṇini supports, in your own voice. The language comes from the text you type, so a clone recorded in English or Hindi can read a Urdu script.

Your accent comes with it: a clone sounds like you speaking Urdu, not like a different native speaker. Every free account includes one voice clone. Clone only your own voice, or a voice whose owner has agreed.

FAQ

Urdu voice-over questions

Yes, to try. The playground on this page plays up to 220 characters at a time in your browser, with no account. A free account adds 10,000 characters and one voice clone, no card required, and lets you save the audio as a file. After that it is $0.03125 per 1,000 characters (about Rs 8.65 or ₹2.97), the same rate for every language.

220 characters per play without an account, which is two or three sentences, about 14 seconds of Urdu with Alok, enough to hear how a voice reads your lines. For a full video, sign up free, generate the script scene by scene in the dashboard with your 10,000 free characters, and join the clips in your editor.

Yes, after free sign-up. The playground on this page plays audio in your browser only, so use it to pick the voice. Once you sign up free, the dashboard saves each clip as a WAV file with Download audio, and the API returns MP3 when you set "output_format": "mp3". Then add the file in CapCut or VN.

Yes. Audio you generate, on the free tier or with paid credits, can be used on monetised YouTube channels, Shorts, Reels and in ads, with no attribution. YouTube limits mass-produced, repetitive videos, not AI voices, so write your own script and keep your edits original. The monetisation decision is YouTube's.

The audio you generate is yours to use, including commercially, with no attribution and no royalties to Sonex Labs. You are responsible for the script itself: if you read someone else's text, you need their permission.

The voices are expressive and follow your punctuation: a question mark lifts the line, an exclamation mark gives it energy, a full stop lets it settle and a comma adds a short pause. There are no emotion or style presets, so the script is where you shape the read. Developers can also set the pace with the API's speed parameter (0.5 to 2.0).

Yes. The page works in a phone browser: paste the script, pick a voice and play it to check the read. To save the audio, sign up free and use the dashboard in the same browser; it saves each clip as a WAV file you can add in CapCut or VN. There is no app to install.

Yes. Record a 10-second sample and Pāṇini clones your voice; every free account includes one clone. Clone only your own voice, or a voice whose owner has agreed, and never a public figure.

Yes. A Sonex voice clone is not tied to the language it was recorded in. Type a Urdu script and your clone reads it in your own voice, with Urdu pronunciation. Your natural accent carries over, so it sounds like you speaking Urdu.

Yes. On this page, a script typed in Roman letters (aaj ki video mein) is rewritten in native script before it is spoken, the same step the Hindi page uses for Hinglish. Urdu script still gives the most predictable result, so play a Roman Urdu line before you generate a whole video.

Not yet. The Hindi voices Alok, Priya and Anchal read Urdu script with a Hindi speaker's accent. For a Pakistani accent, clone your own voice, or a native speaker's with their consent, from a 10-second recording; the clone reads Urdu in that voice.

The AI voice is not what Meta restricts: its rules target unoriginal or reposted content. Its July 2025 post on combating unoriginal content (Meta for Creators) is about reusing other creators' videos, photos or text without adding anything, and about duplicate copies; it does not mention AI voices, and it names voice-over and commentary as ways of adding something of your own. So write your own script, use footage you made or have the rights to, and let the AI voice read your words. The link to Meta's post is in the TikTok and Reels section above.
