Sample scripts

Three Hindi scripts to start from

Each one fits in a single play. Hear it, then copy it into the playground and change it to your own topic.

  • Shorts hook · 130 characters · about 8 s

A kitchen tip that stops the scroll

    रुकिए! अगली बार चाय बनाते समय ये गलती मत कीजिए। सिर्फ़ तीस सेकंड में जानिए कि अदरक कब डालना चाहिए, ताकि चाय का स्वाद दुगना हो जाए।

Wait! Don't make this mistake the next time you make tea. In just thirty seconds, find out when to add the ginger so the tea tastes twice as good.

How to read it: Open on the command, with no greeting: viewers decide in the first two seconds. Keep the line before the payoff under 15 seconds, which with Priya is about 230 characters, and if the hook feels slow, cut words rather than adding them.

  • Story narration · 151 characters · about 10 s

A village ghost story, told slowly

On that rainy night the whole village lost power. Grandmother lit the lantern and began the story of the old well that nobody went near alone after dusk.

How to read it: Story and horror channels need room to breathe. Give each image its own sentence and end it with a full stop, so the voice settles before the next one. Anchal's calm read suits this, and short sentences add weight without dragging.

  • Explainer · 168 characters · about 11 s

How the UPI collect-request scam works

Many people make one mistake on UPI: accepting a request that asks for money. Remember, you never enter a PIN to receive money. The PIN is only for sending it.

How to read it: Keep the English words people really say (UPI, request, PIN) in Latin letters; the voice reads mixed Hindi and English in one go. Alok's steady read suits finance and tech explainers.

More ready-made scripts, with timings, are in the voice-over script templates.

Hire or use AI

What a Hindi voice-over costs: a voice artist or AI

A human voice-over is priced by the job and by how the audio will be used; AI is priced by the character. The figures below are public, dated starting points, not quotes.

Hire a person when the voice is the brand (a TV or radio ad, a mascot) or when the script needs acting: characters, comedy timing, strong emotion. AI is usually enough when you publish often, when the script changes after review, or when you want a scratch track to time the edit before you hire a voice.

How to write a Hindi script that sounds spoken

With Priya, Hindi came out at about 937 characters per minute of finished audio when we timed it, so a 60-second Short is roughly 940 characters and a 10-minute video about 9,400. Another voice can run 15 to 20 percent faster or slower, so time your own voice once before you plan a long video.

  • Write for the ear. Short sentences, everyday words, and commas where a speaker would breathe.
  • Keep English words English. Pāṇini TTS reads mixed-language text such as Hinglish naturally, in one voice.
  • Check numbers and names by ear. Prices, dates and brand names are where a reading most often goes wrong; write them the way they should be said, as in ढाई लाख rather than 2,50,000.
  • Generate scene by scene. One clip per scene makes it easier to fit each line to its shot, and to redo one line without touching the rest.

Instagram Reels

Reels ke liye AI voice

Hindi Reels are mostly quick tips, recipes, facts and storytime, and many creators write their captions in Hinglish. You can type the Reel script the same way, in Roman letters (aaj ka tip), and this page rewrites it in Devanagari before it is spoken, so it comes out as Hindi rather than English.

With Priya, Hindi came out at about 937 characters a minute, so a 60-second Reel is about 940 characters and a 15-second one about 230, a little more than one play in the playground.

A short kitchen Reel · 177 characters · about 11 s

Do you keep tomatoes in the fridge? Then do listen to this. Keep unripe tomatoes outside, away from the sun, and they keep their flavour. Only put them in the fridge once they are ripe. Follow for more kitchen tips like this.

How to read it: Open on the question, give the tip in two short sentences, and say the follow line once at the end. It fits a 15-second Reel with room for a closing shot.

  1. 1

    Save the audio

Play the Reel script here until the read is right, then sign up free, generate it in the dashboard and tap Download audio to save a WAV file. One clip per shot is easier to line up than one long file.
  2. 2

Add it in Edits, VN or InShot

Import the saved file into VN, InShot or Instagram's Edits app:
    • Instagram's Edits app: open your project, tap Audio in the toolbar at the bottom, then tap the folder icon to import the file. To set how loud a layer is, tap it, then Volume. Instagram Help: Edit your video on Edits.
    • VN: in the music library, open Yours, tap the ⋮ (More) menu and choose File App to import the file. Tap the music clip on the timeline to set its volume. VN Help: Import music and audio.
    • InShot: add the file through InShot's music tools, which take music and voice-overs. InShot has no written help page for this, so the name of the import option can differ between versions. InShot on the App Store.
  3. 3

Export and post it as a reel

Keep the project vertical (9:16) and export it. In Instagram, tap + (Create), choose Reel, pick the video from your camera roll, tap Next, then Share (Instagram Help). If you edited in Edits, its export screen can also share the video straight to Instagram as a reel (Edits help).

These steps follow each app's own pages as checked on 26 October 2026. Button names move between app versions and can differ between iPhone and Android, so if one is not where it says, the linked page has the current steps.

  • Write the hook first. Viewers decide in the first second or two. Keep the opening line to one question or one command: three seconds is about 45 characters with Priya.
  • Keep English words English. Write follow, save and comment in Latin letters or as फ़ॉलो, सेव, कमेंट, whichever your captions use; the voice reads both.
  • Same words on screen. If you put the script on screen as text, keep it word for word with the voice, so a viewer watching on mute gets the same Reel.

How to

Make a Hindi voice-over video in 5 steps

  1. 1

    Write the script

Write the way you talk to camera: short sentences, everyday words, and commas where you would breathe. Write प्रोडक्ट or product, whichever your viewers expect; both read in the same voice.

  2. 2

    Pick a voice

Play the same line in two or three of the voices on this page and keep the one that fits your channel. Use one voice for every video, so viewers learn to recognise it.

  3. 3

Play it, then save the audio

Each play takes up to 220 characters, about 14 seconds of Hindi, and plays in your browser only, so use it to check how the voice reads your lines. To save the audio, sign up free: the dashboard draws on your 10,000 free characters and saves each clip as a WAV file, and the API returns MP3 when you ask for "output_format": "mp3".

  4. 4

Add it in your video editor

Import the saved WAV or MP3 files into VN, InShot or Instagram's Edits app as audio. Lay the clips on the audio track in order, trim the gaps, and line each sentence up with its shot.

  5. 5

    Upload

Export and upload to YouTube, Shorts, Instagram Reels or Facebook. If the voice is realistic enough that viewers could take it for a real person, tick YouTube's altered or synthetic content label. YouTube’s help page explains when it applies.

Commercial use

Use Hindi AI voice-overs on monetised channels

  • Use the audio in YouTube videos, Shorts, Instagram Reels, podcasts and ads, including on monetised channels.
  • This applies to the free tier and to paid credits. No attribution to Sonex Labs is needed.
  • You are responsible for your script, and for disclosing realistic synthetic content where a platform asks you to.

The full wording is in our terms of service.

YouTube

Can a channel with an AI voice be monetised?

Yes, AI voices are allowed. What YouTube limits is mass-produced, repetitive content: videos made from a template with little original work. Its July 2025 update renamed that rule from “repetitious” to “inauthentic” content (YouTube’s monetisation policies).

Write your own script, add your own research or editing, and keep one consistent voice for the channel. Where a realistic AI voice could mislead viewers, use YouTube’s altered or synthetic content label. The monetisation decision is always YouTube’s.

Voice cloning

Your own voice, speaking Hindi

Clone your voice from a 10-second recording. Your clone speaks Hindi, and every other language Pāṇini supports, in your own voice. The language comes from the text you type, so a clone recorded in English or Hindi can read a Hindi script.

Your accent comes with it: a clone sounds like you speaking Hindi, not like a different native speaker. Every free account includes one voice clone. Clone only your own voice, or a voice whose owner has agreed.

FAQ

Hindi voice-over questions

Yes, to try. The playground on this page plays up to 220 characters at a time in your browser, with no account. A free account adds 10,000 characters and one voice clone, no card required, and lets you save the audio as a file. After that it is $0.03125 per 1,000 characters (about ₹2.97), the same rate for every language.

220 characters per play without an account, which is two or three sentences, about 14 seconds of Hindi with Priya, enough to hear how a voice reads your lines. For a full video, sign up free, generate the script scene by scene in the dashboard with your 10,000 free characters, and join the clips in your editor.

Yes, after free sign-up. The playground on this page plays audio in your browser only, so use it to pick the voice. Once you sign up free, the dashboard saves each clip as a WAV file with Download audio, and the API returns MP3 when you set "output_format": "mp3". Then add the file in VN, InShot or Instagram's Edits app.

Yes. Audio you generate, on the free tier or with paid credits, can be used on monetised YouTube channels, Shorts, Reels and in ads, with no attribution. YouTube limits mass-produced, repetitive videos, not AI voices, so write your own script and keep your edits original. The monetisation decision is YouTube's.

The audio you generate is yours to use, including commercially, with no attribution and no royalties to Sonex Labs. You are responsible for the script itself: if you read someone else's text, you need their permission.

The voices are expressive and follow your punctuation: a question mark lifts the line, an exclamation mark gives it energy, a full stop lets it settle and a comma adds a short pause. There are no emotion or style presets, so the script is where you shape the read. Developers can also set the pace with the API's speed parameter (0.5 to 2.0).

Yes. The page works in a phone browser: paste the script, pick a voice and play it to check the read. To save the audio, sign up free and use the dashboard in the same browser; it saves each clip as a WAV file you can add in VN, InShot or Instagram's Edits app. There is no app to install.

Yes. Record a 10-second sample and Pāṇini clones your voice; every free account includes one clone. Clone only your own voice, or a voice whose owner has agreed, and never a public figure.

Yes. A Sonex voice clone is not tied to the language it was recorded in. Type a Hindi script and your clone reads it in your own voice, with Hindi pronunciation. Your natural accent carries over, so it sounds like you speaking Hindi.

Yes. On this page, Hinglish typed in Roman letters (aaj ka video) is rewritten in Devanagari before it is spoken, so it comes out as Hindi rather than as English. Devanagari input is read as it is. For scripts that are mostly English words, the Hinglish voices Shruti, Vikas and Neeraj sound the most natural.

Per script, by a wide margin: a few rupees against thousands. The prices do not buy the same thing, though. A voice artist gives you a performance and takes direction; AI gives you a fast, repeatable reading that you shape through the script. For a brand campaign or a character-driven piece, hire a person. For explainers, drafts and frequent uploads, AI is usually enough.

About 10.7 minutes with Priya, the voice we timed (937 characters per minute at normal speed). A faster voice, or a higher speed set through the API, gives less time; a slower one gives more.
