Punjabi AI voice generator

Veer, a native Punjabi platform voice, reads the playground above. Any Sonex Labs voice can also read Punjabi, keeping its own accent, and a voice cloned from a 10-second recording of a Punjabi speaker carries that speaker's accent.

About Punjabi

How Punjabi speech is read

Punjabi is a tonal language, though writing hides it. The Gurmukhi letters ਘ, ਝ, ਢ, ਧ and ਭ look like breathy consonants, but in most dialects they are spoken as plain consonants with a change of pitch on the vowel, and ਹ in the middle of a word does the same: ਘਰ (home) is not "ghar" with a breathy gh. A voice that reads Punjabi with Hindi sounds misses this in nearly every sentence. Veer, a native Punjabi platform voice, reads every sample on this page.

Gurmukhi also marks doubled consonants with the addhak (ੱ), as in ਪੱਕਾ, and nasal vowels with bindi and tippi, so a single dot can change the word. Across the border in Pakistan, Punjabi is written in Shahmukhi, a Perso-Arabic script; this page covers Gurmukhi. Customer calls lean on ਜੀ for respect and mix in English words such as parcel, booking and visa, which Pāṇini reads in the same voice.

Use Punjabi AI voice-overs on monetised channels

  • Use the audio in YouTube videos, Shorts, Instagram Reels, podcasts and ads, including on monetised channels.

  • You are responsible for your script, and for disclosing realistic synthetic content where a platform asks you to.

YouTube

Can a channel with an AI voice be monetised?

Yes, AI voices are allowed. What YouTube limits is mass-produced, repetitive content: videos made from a template with little original work. Its July 2025 update renamed that rule from “repetitious” to “inauthentic” content (YouTube’s monetisation policies).

Write your own script, add your own research or editing, and keep one consistent voice for the channel. Where a realistic AI voice could mislead viewers, use YouTube’s altered or synthetic content label. The monetisation decision is always YouTube’s.

Voice cloning

Your own voice, speaking Punjabi

Clone your voice from a 10-second recording. Your clone speaks Punjabi, and every other language Pāṇini supports, in your own voice. The language comes from the text you type, so a clone recorded in English or Hindi can read a Punjabi script.

Your accent comes with it: a clone sounds like you speaking Punjabi, not like a different native speaker. Every free account includes one voice clone. Clone only your own voice, or a voice whose owner has agreed.

API

Punjabi TTS API

One request returns Punjabi audio as MP3. The language is detected from the text, so no language setting is needed. Pāṇini TTS starts streaming audio in under 200 ms (time to first byte).
