Urdu AI voice generator

There is no native Urdu platform voice yet. The playground uses Alok, a Hindi voice: the Urdu text is read correctly, in a Hindi speaker's accent. For a Pakistani or other local Urdu accent, clone a native Urdu speaker from a 10-second recording and use that voice for every clip.

Free Urdu text to speech: what you get

  • Play up to 220 characters of Urdu at a time in the playground above, with no account.
  • Sign up free for 10,000 characters and one voice clone, no card required.
  • After sign-up, get MP3 from the API or download clips from the dashboard.
  • After the free characters, $0.03125 per 1,000 characters, the same rate for every language.

Convert Urdu text to audio (MP3)

Sign up free, then send Urdu text to the API with "output_format": "mp3" and save the file, or generate clips in the dashboard and download them. Scripts longer than the playground's 220 characters work the same way.

About Urdu

How Urdu speech is read

Urdu is written right to left in the Perso-Arabic script, usually in the flowing Nastaliq style, and the short vowels are normally left out. The same letters can spell more than one word, so how a word sounds depends on knowing the language, not just the letters. Urdu also keeps sounds from Persian and Arabic that everyday Hindi often softens: ق (q), خ (kh), غ (gh), ز (z) and ف (f), as in قسط (instalment) and خوش آمدید (welcome).

Spoken Urdu and Hindi are close enough that a call in one is understood by speakers of the other, which is why Alok, a Hindi platform voice, can read the samples here. The differences are in script and vocabulary, and in courtesies such as آداب and the respectful آپ forms that Urdu speakers expect on a call. For a native Urdu accent, clone a native speaker's voice from a 10-second sample and use it for every call.

Voice over for YouTube, Shorts and Reels in Urdu

Urdu storytelling, poetry, history and drama recaps are some of the biggest faceless formats on YouTube. Write the script in Urdu script and play it above: Alok is a Hindi voice, so the words are read correctly, in an Indian accent. For a Pakistani accent on every video, clone a native speaker's voice from a 10-second recording; the free account includes one clone. That way this works as an Urdu AI voice generator free to start, Urdu voice over AI keeps one narrator across a series, and the Urdu text to speech MP3 is yours to download.

10,000 free text-to-speech characters and one free voice clone that speaks every language, no card required. That is about 10.8 minutes of narration, measured with Alok on Urdu text. The player above plays in your browser only, so you can check the voice with no account. To save the audio, sign up free: the dashboard saves each clip as a WAV file, and the API returns MP3 when you set "output_format": "mp3". More for video makers on the creators page.

Commercial use

Use Urdu AI voice-overs on monetised channels

  • Use the audio in YouTube videos, Shorts, Instagram Reels, podcasts and ads, including on monetised channels.
  • This applies to the free tier and to paid credits. No attribution to Sonex Labs is needed.
  • You are responsible for your script, and for disclosing realistic synthetic content where a platform asks you to.

The full wording is in our terms of service.

YouTube

Can a channel with an AI voice be monetised?

Yes, AI voices are allowed. What YouTube limits is mass-produced, repetitive content: videos made from a template with little original work. Its July 2025 update renamed that rule from “repetitious” to “inauthentic” content (YouTube’s monetisation policies).

Write your own script, add your own research or editing, and keep one consistent voice for the channel. Where a realistic AI voice could mislead viewers, use YouTube’s altered or synthetic content label. The monetisation decision is always YouTube’s.

Voice cloning

Your own voice, speaking Urdu

Clone your voice from a 10-second recording. Your clone speaks Urdu, and every other language Pāṇini supports, in your own voice. The language comes from the text you type, so a clone recorded in English or Hindi can read a Urdu script.

Your accent comes with it: a clone sounds like you speaking Urdu, not like a different native speaker. Every free account includes one voice clone. Clone only your own voice, or a voice whose owner has agreed.

How voice cloning works

API

Urdu TTS API

One request returns Urdu audio as MP3. The language is detected from the text, so no language setting is needed. Pāṇini TTS starts streaming audio in under 200 ms (time to first byte).
