English AI voice generator

Charlotte, a native English platform voice, reads the playground above. Any Sonex Labs voice can also read English, keeping its own accent, and a voice cloned from a 10-second recording of a English speaker carries that speaker's accent.

Free English text to speech: what you get

  • Play up to 220 characters of English at a time in the playground above, with no account.
  • Sign up free for 10,000 characters and one voice clone, no card required.
  • After sign-up, get MP3 from the API or download clips from the dashboard.
  • After the free characters, $0.03125 per 1,000 characters, the same rate for every language.

Convert English text to audio (MP3)

Sign up free, then send English text to the API with "output_format": "mp3" and save the file, or generate clips in the dashboard and download them. Scripts longer than the playground's 220 characters work the same way.

About English

How English speech is read

In English, the accent often matters as much as the words. A caller in Texas, Manchester, Lagos or Bengaluru reads the same sentence but expects to hear it differently: rhotic or non-rhotic r, "tomayto" or "tomahto", the stress of Nigerian English or the rhythm of Indian English. Charlotte, a native English platform voice, reads the samples on this page. If your callers should hear their own accent, clone a local speaker from a 10-second sample, and for India see the separate Indian English page.

English is also the language most often mixed into others. Spanglish in Miami, Taglish in Manila and Hinglish in Delhi all borrow English words mid-sentence. Pāṇini reads code-mixed text in one voice, so a brand that answers in English in one country and Spanish or Hindi in the next can keep one voice, and one price, across all of them.

Commercial use

Use English AI voice-overs on monetised channels

  • Use the audio in YouTube videos, Shorts, Instagram Reels, podcasts and ads, including on monetised channels.
  • This applies to the free tier and to paid credits. No attribution to Sonex Labs is needed.
  • You are responsible for your script, and for disclosing realistic synthetic content where a platform asks you to.

The full wording is in our terms of service.

YouTube

Can a channel with an AI voice be monetised?

Yes, AI voices are allowed. What YouTube limits is mass-produced, repetitive content: videos made from a template with little original work. Its July 2025 update renamed that rule from “repetitious” to “inauthentic” content (YouTube’s monetisation policies).

Write your own script, add your own research or editing, and keep one consistent voice for the channel. Where a realistic AI voice could mislead viewers, use YouTube’s altered or synthetic content label. The monetisation decision is always YouTube’s.

Voice cloning

Your own voice, speaking English

Clone your voice from a 10-second recording. Your clone speaks English, and every other language Pāṇini supports, in your own voice. The language comes from the text you type, so a clone recorded in English or Hindi can read a English script.

Your accent comes with it: a clone sounds like you speaking English, not like a different native speaker. Every free account includes one voice clone. Clone only your own voice, or a voice whose owner has agreed.

How voice cloning works

API

English TTS API

One request returns English audio as MP3. The language is detected from the text, so no language setting is needed. Pāṇini TTS starts streaming audio in under 200 ms (time to first byte).

Yes, after free sign-up. The playground on this page plays audio in your browser only, up to 220 characters at a time, so you can check the voice first. Sign up free (10,000 characters and one voice clone, no card): the dashboard saves each clip as a WAV file with Download audio, and the API returns MP3 when you set "output_format": "mp3".

Charlotte, who reads these samples, is a native English voice. For a specific accent, such as Australian or Nigerian English, clone a speaker with that accent from a 10-second sample. Indian English has its own page and native voice.

Yes. Any Sonex Labs voice can speak any supported language, and a cloned voice carries across languages too, so your brand keeps one voice in every market.

Yes. Audio you generate, on the free tier or with paid credits, can be used on monetised YouTube channels, Shorts, Reels and in ads, with no attribution. YouTube limits mass-produced, repetitive videos, not AI voices, so write your own script and keep your edits original. The monetisation decision is YouTube's.

The audio you generate is yours to use, including commercially, with no attribution and no royalties to Sonex Labs. You are responsible for the script itself: if you read someone else's text, you need their permission.

Yes. A Sonex voice clone is not tied to the language it was recorded in. Type a English script and your clone reads it in your own voice, with English pronunciation. Your natural accent carries over, so it sounds like you speaking English.
