Storytelling AI voice in Hindi, free
Kahani channels live on a voice that sounds like someone telling the story, not reading it. Paste a scene of your story and try it in three Hindi voices. When one fits, sign up free to save the narration as an audio file.

How a kahani should sound
Write the story the way it is told aloud
A kahani video is listened to more than it is watched. Viewers stay for the rhythm: a slow start, a question, a pause, then the turn. The voice follows your punctuation, so most of that rhythm is in how you write.
- Write short sentences to slow it down. Story narration sounds rushed when sentences run long. Short sentences and full stops give each line room without dragging.
- One action per sentence. "वो उठा। दरवाज़े तक गया। रुक गया।" reads like a storyteller. One long sentence with three actions reads like a summary.
- Put a full stop before the twist. The voice pauses at full stops. End the sentence just before the turn, so the pause lands where a listener would lean in.
- Ask the listener. A line such as "तो बताइए, किसका घर बचा?" keeps children and families listening to the end, and gives you a natural place to cut to the next scene.
- Write numbers and names as they are said. "सात दिन", not "7 दिन", and spell an unusual name the way it should sound. Listen to every name once before you publish.

Moral story for a kids' channel
In a forest lived a little sparrow. The other birds built nests in big trees, but she kept building her small home one straw at a time, every day. Then one day a strong storm came. So, children, tell me, whose home survived? You'll find out at the end of the story.
Pacing: Warm and unhurried. A clear pause after "आँधी आई", and a smile on the question to the children.

Bedtime story: the king who loved sweets
Today's story is about a king who loved sweets. So much that he announced across the kingdom: whoever makes the best sweet will get a gold coin. The next day a long queue formed outside the palace. But at the very back stood a small child, holding just a bowl.
Pacing: Calm and low-key, for children falling asleep. Let "इतना शौक़" stand on its own before the announcement.

Family story for a Short
Like every Sunday, Papa went out early that morning to buy jalebis. But that day he didn't come back for an hour. He had left his phone at home too. Mother kept looking out of the window. And then the doorbell rang.
Pacing: Plain and steady, so the tension builds by itself. Cut the clip right after "घंटी बजी" and continue in the next Short.
Lengths use the rate we measured for Hindi with Priya at normal speed (937 characters a minute); other voices run up to a fifth faster or slower. More scripts by video type are in the Hindi voice-over script library.
Voices
Hindi voices for storytelling
Three Hindi voices that suit story narration. Each one reads the page's opening line when you press Hear. All of them follow your punctuation; none of them has a separate storytelling mode.
Priya
Female · Hindi · catalogue tone: Warm, Expressive
The most expressive of the Hindi voices. Good for children's stories, folk tales and anything with dialogue, where the voice needs to lift on a question.
Anchal
Female · Hindi · catalogue tone: Experienced, Calm
Calm and measured, like an older storyteller. Suits bedtime stories, long kahani episodes and devotional stories read slowly.
Alok
Male · Hindi · catalogue tone: Natural, Professional
A steady, natural male narrator. Works well for family dramas, history-style stories and longer episodes where an even pace matters more than colour.
Step by step
How to make a Hindi kahani video in five steps
- 01
Write the story in scenes
Split the story into scenes of six to ten short sentences. Each scene becomes one clip, so you can redo one line without regenerating the whole story.
- 02
Paste one scene and pick a voice
Paste the scene into the playground above and play it in Priya, Anchal and Alok. Without an account each play takes up to 220 characters, roughly two or three sentences, and plays in your browser only.
- 03
Sign up free to save the audio
Listen once for names and numbers. Then sign up free and generate each scene in the dashboard, which saves it as a WAV file (the API gives MP3), and add the files in CapCut, VN or your editor.
- 04
Lay the clips over pictures
Put the clips on the timeline in order and add illustrations, photos or simple animation for each scene. Leave half a second of silence between scenes.
- 05
Add your intro and publish
Record or generate a short channel intro, add soft background music in your editor, and use YouTube's AI label where a realistic AI voice could mislead viewers.
Commercial use
Use Hindi AI voice-overs on monetised channels
- Use the audio in YouTube videos, Shorts, Instagram Reels, podcasts and ads, including on monetised channels.
- This applies to the free tier and to paid credits. No attribution to Sonex Labs is needed.
- You are responsible for your script, and for disclosing realistic synthetic content where a platform asks you to.

YouTube
Can a channel with an AI voice be monetised?
Yes, AI voices are allowed. What YouTube limits is mass-produced, repetitive content: videos made from a template with little original work. Its July 2025 update renamed that rule from “repetitious” to “inauthentic” content (YouTube’s monetisation policies).
Write your own script, add your own research or editing, and keep one consistent voice for the channel. Where a realistic AI voice could mislead viewers, use YouTube’s altered or synthetic content label. The monetisation decision is always YouTube’s.
Voice cloning
Your own voice, speaking Hindi
Clone your voice from a 10-second recording. Your clone speaks Hindi, and every other language Pāṇini supports, in your own voice. The language comes from the text you type, so a clone recorded in English or Hindi can read a Hindi script.
Your accent comes with it: a clone sounds like you speaking Hindi, not like a different native speaker. Every free account includes one voice clone. Clone only your own voice, or a voice whose owner has agreed.
FAQ
Questions creators ask
Yes, with a free account. Without one you can play up to 220 characters at a time, about 14 seconds of Hindi, to try the voices. Sign up free for 10,000 characters, about 10 minutes of Hindi narration at the rate we measured, and save each scene as an audio file to build the story.
Anchal is the calmest choice. For a lively children's story with dialogue, Priya sounds more expressive. Play the same scene in both before you decide, and keep one voice for the whole channel.
You can retell old folk tales in your own words. Copying a published book's text, or another channel's script, is not yours to use, and YouTube treats reading out text you did not write as reused content.
Yes. Audio you generate, on the free tier or with paid credits, can be used on monetised YouTube channels, Shorts, Reels and in ads, with no attribution. YouTube limits mass-produced, repetitive videos, not AI voices, so write your own script and keep your edits original. The monetisation decision is YouTube's.
The audio you generate is yours to use, including commercially, with no attribution and no royalties to Sonex Labs. You are responsible for the script itself: if you read someone else's text, you need their permission.
Yes. A Sonex voice clone is not tied to the language it was recorded in. Type a Hindi script and your clone reads it in your own voice, with Hindi pronunciation. Your natural accent carries over, so it sounds like you speaking Hindi.
