Our story

Most speech AI stops where most people start talking.

Speech technology works well in a few dozen languages. Hundreds of millions of people speak something else at home: Bhojpuri, Maithili, Marwari, Gulf Arabic, Swahili. When a business calls them, it either uses a language they only half follow or hires people to make every call by hand.

We started Sonex Labs in 2026 so that every voice has representation and access. Instead of stitching together other companies' models, we decided to build our own: one model that speaks 250+ languages, moves between them mid-sentence the way people do, and holds up on a crackly phone line.

Today businesses in lending, healthcare, insurance, retail and logistics use our models and voice agents to talk to their customers in the language those customers grew up with.

Our mission

Make every language a first-class language for machines.

No one should have to switch languages to be understood by a computer, a bank or a hospital. That is the standard we hold ourselves to.

Why the names

Named after people who shaped how language is studied and told.

Each of our models carries the name of someone from the Indian tradition of language and storytelling, a reminder of the standard we are building towards.

Text to speech

Pāṇini

The grammarian whose Aṣṭādhyāyī described the sounds and rules of Sanskrit with a precision linguists still study. Our voice model is named for him.

Speech to text

Valmiki

Remembered as the first poet and the author of the Ramayana, a story carried for centuries by people listening and retelling. Our listening model is named for him.

Language model

Vyas

Credited with composing the Mahabharata and arranging the Vedas, organising a vast body of knowledge so others could use it. Our language model is named for him.
