Sample scripts

Three Telugu scripts to start from

Each one fits in a single play. Hear it, then copy it into the playground and change it to your own topic.

  • Shorts hook · 141 characters · about 10 s

Fifty rupees a day, for a year

If you set aside just fifty rupees a day, do you know how much it comes to in a year? Over eighteen thousand! Let's see how to start, in thirty seconds.

How to read it: Numbers make strong hooks; write them in words (యాభై, పద్దెనిమిది వేలు) so they are read exactly as you want. Ask the question, then give the answer as a short exclamation.

  • Story narration · 147 characters · about 10 s

A face on the last bus in Hyderabad

That day in Hyderabad the rain would not stop. Ravi, who caught the last bus from the office, felt he had seen the face of the old man in the back seat somewhere before.

How to read it: Telugu story channels often narrate in the past continuous (పడుతోంది) to pull the viewer into the scene. Keep one image per sentence and give the reveal a sentence of its own.

  • Explainer · 162 characters · about 11 s

A study technique in four steps

Try a small technique when you study for exams. Study for twenty-five minutes, take a five-minute break. After doing this four times, take a long break.

How to read it: Spoken Telugu borrows English freely Write those words in Telugu letters or in English letters, whichever your viewers read; the voice handles both.

More ready-made scripts, with timings, are in the voice-over script templates.

Instagram Reels

AI voice for Instagram Reels

Telugu Reels mix in English freely (టిప్, సేవ్, స్టూడెంట్స్), and many are study tips, money tips, food and family comedy. Write the English words the way your viewers read them, in Telugu or English letters; the voice reads both.

With Ananya we measured about 875 characters a minute, so a 15-second Reel is about 220 characters, almost exactly one play in the playground. A one-tip Reel can be heard in full before you sign up.

A short study-tip Reel · 176 characters · about 12 s

College students, remember this one tip. Right after you study something, try explaining it simply to someone. If you can't, it means you haven't understood it yet. Save this!

How to read it: Open on who it is for, give the tip in the middle sentence, and keep the save line short. The play on అర్థం (meaning, understood) lands best with a comma before it.

  1. 1

    Save the audio

Play the Reel script here until the read is right, then sign up free, generate it in the dashboard and tap Download audio to save a WAV file. One clip per shot is easier to line up than one long file.
  2. 2

Add it in Edits, VN or InShot

Import the saved file into VN, InShot or Instagram's Edits app:
    • Instagram's Edits app: open your project, tap Audio in the toolbar at the bottom, then tap the folder icon to import the file. To set how loud a layer is, tap it, then Volume. Instagram Help: Edit your video on Edits.
    • VN: in the music library, open Yours, tap the ⋮ (More) menu and choose File App to import the file. Tap the music clip on the timeline to set its volume. VN Help: Import music and audio.
    • InShot: add the file through InShot's music tools, which take music and voice-overs. InShot has no written help page for this, so the name of the import option can differ between versions. InShot on the App Store.
  3. 3

Export and post it as a reel

Keep the project vertical (9:16) and export it. In Instagram, tap + (Create), choose Reel, pick the video from your camera roll, tap Next, then Share (Instagram Help). If you edited in Edits, its export screen can also share the video straight to Instagram as a reel (Edits help).

These steps follow each app's own pages as checked on 26 October 2026. Button names move between app versions and can differ between iPhone and Android, so if one is not where it says, the linked page has the current steps.

  • One play, one Reel. At about 220 characters for 15 seconds, a one-tip Telugu Reel fits in a single play.
  • Pick one way to say times. సెవెన్ థర్టీ or ఏడున్నర: use the one your followers use, and keep it the same across Reels.
  • Two voices, one channel. Ananya suits tips and explainers, Neha's lighter read suits family and story Reels. Pick one and keep it, so followers know the voice.

Voices

Telugu voices for creators

Telugu has two native voices in the public catalogue, both female. There is no native male Telugu voice yet; clone your own voice from 10 seconds if your channel needs one.

  • Female · Natural, Professional · Telugu

    Ananya

Natural and clear, the voice this page opens with. Suits explainers, education and tech channels.

How to

Make a Telugu voice-over video in 5 steps

  1. 1

    Write the script

Write the way you speak on camera, English words included. For clock times, write them the way your audience says them: many Telugu speakers say times in English

  2. 2

    Pick a voice

Play the same line in two or three of the voices on this page and keep the one that fits your channel. Use one voice for every video, so viewers learn to recognise it.

  3. 3

Play it, then save the audio

Each play takes up to 220 characters, about 15 seconds of Telugu, and plays in your browser only, so use it to check how the voice reads your lines. To save the audio, sign up free: the dashboard draws on your 10,000 free characters and saves each clip as a WAV file, and the API returns MP3 when you ask for "output_format": "mp3".

  4. 4

Add it in your video editor

Import the saved WAV or MP3 files into VN, InShot or Instagram's Edits app as audio. Lay the clips on the audio track in order, trim the gaps, and line each sentence up with its shot.

  5. 5

    Upload

Export and upload to YouTube, Shorts, Instagram Reels or Facebook. If the voice is realistic enough that viewers could take it for a real person, tick YouTube's altered or synthetic content label. YouTube’s help page explains when it applies.

Commercial use

Use Telugu AI voice-overs on monetised channels

  • Use the audio in YouTube videos, Shorts, Instagram Reels, podcasts and ads, including on monetised channels.
  • This applies to the free tier and to paid credits. No attribution to Sonex Labs is needed.
  • You are responsible for your script, and for disclosing realistic synthetic content where a platform asks you to.

The full wording is in our terms of service.

YouTube

Can a channel with an AI voice be monetised?

Yes, AI voices are allowed. What YouTube limits is mass-produced, repetitive content: videos made from a template with little original work. Its July 2025 update renamed that rule from “repetitious” to “inauthentic” content (YouTube’s monetisation policies).

Write your own script, add your own research or editing, and keep one consistent voice for the channel. Where a realistic AI voice could mislead viewers, use YouTube’s altered or synthetic content label. The monetisation decision is always YouTube’s.

Voice cloning

Your own voice, speaking Telugu

Clone your voice from a 10-second recording. Your clone speaks Telugu, and every other language Pāṇini supports, in your own voice. The language comes from the text you type, so a clone recorded in English or Hindi can read a Telugu script.

Your accent comes with it: a clone sounds like you speaking Telugu, not like a different native speaker. Every free account includes one voice clone. Clone only your own voice, or a voice whose owner has agreed.

FAQ

Telugu voice-over questions

Yes, to try. The playground on this page plays up to 220 characters at a time in your browser, with no account. A free account adds 10,000 characters and one voice clone, no card required, and lets you save the audio as a file. After that it is $0.03125 per 1,000 characters (about ₹2.97), the same rate for every language.

220 characters per play without an account, which is two or three sentences, about 15 seconds of Telugu with Ananya, enough to hear how a voice reads your lines. For a full video, sign up free, generate the script scene by scene in the dashboard with your 10,000 free characters, and join the clips in your editor.

Yes, after free sign-up. The playground on this page plays audio in your browser only, so use it to pick the voice. Once you sign up free, the dashboard saves each clip as a WAV file with Download audio, and the API returns MP3 when you set "output_format": "mp3". Then add the file in VN, InShot or Instagram's Edits app.

Yes. Audio you generate, on the free tier or with paid credits, can be used on monetised YouTube channels, Shorts, Reels and in ads, with no attribution. YouTube limits mass-produced, repetitive videos, not AI voices, so write your own script and keep your edits original. The monetisation decision is YouTube's.

The audio you generate is yours to use, including commercially, with no attribution and no royalties to Sonex Labs. You are responsible for the script itself: if you read someone else's text, you need their permission.

The voices are expressive and follow your punctuation: a question mark lifts the line, an exclamation mark gives it energy, a full stop lets it settle and a comma adds a short pause. There are no emotion or style presets, so the script is where you shape the read. Developers can also set the pace with the API's speed parameter (0.5 to 2.0).

Yes. The page works in a phone browser: paste the script, pick a voice and play it to check the read. To save the audio, sign up free and use the dashboard in the same browser; it saves each clip as a WAV file you can add in VN, InShot or Instagram's Edits app. There is no app to install.

Yes. Record a 10-second sample and Pāṇini clones your voice; every free account includes one clone. Clone only your own voice, or a voice whose owner has agreed, and never a public figure.

Yes. A Sonex voice clone is not tied to the language it was recorded in. Type a Telugu script and your clone reads it in your own voice, with Telugu pronunciation. Your natural accent carries over, so it sounds like you speaking Telugu.

Either works; the voice reads what you write. Many Telugu speakers say clock times in English (సెవెన్ థర్టీ, seven thirty), while others say ఏడున్నర. Choose the one your viewers use and keep it the same through the video.

Not a native one yet. Ananya and Neha are both female. Any other voice can read Telugu with its own accent, or you can clone your own voice from a 10-second recording and it will read Telugu scripts.
