Portuguese AI voice generator

There is no native Portuguese platform voice yet, so the playground uses Liz, a voice recorded in another language: the Portuguese text is read correctly, in that voice's accent. For a local accent, clone a native Portuguese speaker from a 10-second recording and use that voice for every clip.

Free Portuguese text to speech: what you get

  • Play up to 220 characters of Portuguese at a time in the playground above, with no account.
  • Sign up free for 10,000 characters and one voice clone, no card required.
  • After sign-up, get MP3 from the API or download clips from the dashboard.
  • After the free characters, $0.03125 per 1,000 characters, the same rate for every language.

Convert Portuguese text to audio (MP3)

Sign up free, then send Portuguese text to the API with "output_format": "mp3" and save the file, or generate clips in the dashboard and download them. Scripts longer than the playground's 220 characters work the same way.

About Portuguese

How Portuguese speech is read

Brazilian and European Portuguese share a spelling but sound far apart. Lisbon swallows unstressed vowels ("telefone" can sound almost like "tlfón"), while São Paulo keeps them open and turns "di" and "ti" into "dji" and "tchi". Grammar differs too: a Brazilian says "você" and "estou fazendo", a Portuguese speaker often says "tu" or "o senhor" and "estou a fazer". Write the variety your customers speak, and Pāṇini reads it as written.

Brazilian customer contact runs on boleto and Pix reminders, card collections, delivery updates and WhatsApp-first support. Customers there expect a warm, informal tone, often with English loanwords such as "delivery", "app" or "login". Pāṇini reads that mixed text in one voice, and the same voice can speak Spanish for neighbouring markets in Latin America.

Commercial use

Use Portuguese AI voice-overs on monetised channels

  • Use the audio in YouTube videos, Shorts, Instagram Reels, podcasts and ads, including on monetised channels.
  • This applies to the free tier and to paid credits. No attribution to Sonex Labs is needed.
  • You are responsible for your script, and for disclosing realistic synthetic content where a platform asks you to.

YouTube

Can a channel with an AI voice be monetised?

Yes, AI voices are allowed. What YouTube limits is mass-produced, repetitive content: videos made from a template with little original work. Its July 2025 update renamed that rule from “repetitious” to “inauthentic” content (YouTube’s monetisation policies).

Write your own script, add your own research or editing, and keep one consistent voice for the channel. Where a realistic AI voice could mislead viewers, use YouTube’s altered or synthetic content label. The monetisation decision is always YouTube’s.

Voice cloning

Your own voice, speaking Portuguese

Clone your voice from a 10-second recording. Your clone speaks Portuguese, and every other language Pāṇini supports, in your own voice. The language comes from the text you type, so a clone recorded in English or Hindi can read a Portuguese script.

Your accent comes with it: a clone sounds like you speaking Portuguese, not like a different native speaker. Every free account includes one voice clone. Clone only your own voice, or a voice whose owner has agreed.

How voice cloning works

API

Portuguese TTS API

One request returns Portuguese audio as MP3. The language is detected from the text, so no language setting is needed. Pāṇini TTS starts streaming audio in under 200 ms (time to first byte).

Sign up free (10,000 characters and one voice clone, no card): the dashboard saves each clip as a WAV file with Download audio, and the API returns MP3 when you set "output_format": "mp3".

It reads either; write the text in the variety you want. For a specific accent, clone a speaker from Brazil or Portugal from a 10-second sample.

Liz reads these samples; she is not a native Portuguese voice. Any Sonex Labs voice can speak Portuguese, and you can clone a native speaker's voice from 10 seconds.

Yes. Audio you generate, on the free tier or with paid credits, can be used on monetised YouTube channels, Shorts, Reels and in ads, with no attribution. The audio you generate is yours to use, including commercially, with no attribution and no royalties to Sonex Labs. You are responsible for the script itself: if you read someone else's text, you need their permission.

Yes. A Sonex voice clone is not tied to the language it was recorded in. Type a Portuguese script and your clone reads it in your own voice, with Portuguese pronunciation. Your natural accent carries over, so it sounds like you speaking Portuguese.
