Italian AI voice generator

Isabella, a native Italian platform voice, reads the playground above. Any Sonex Labs voice can also read Italian, keeping its own accent, and a voice cloned from a 10-second recording of a Italian speaker carries that speaker's accent.

Free Italian text to speech: what you get

  • Play up to 220 characters of Italian at a time in the playground above, with no account.
  • Sign up free for 10,000 characters and one voice clone, no card required.
  • After sign-up, get MP3 from the API or download clips from the dashboard.
  • After the free characters, $0.03125 per 1,000 characters, the same rate for every language.

Convert Italian text to audio (MP3)

Sign up free, then send Italian text to the API with "output_format": "mp3" and save the file, or generate clips in the dashboard and download them. Scripts longer than the playground's 220 characters work the same way.

About Italian

How Italian speech is read

Italian is spelled almost as it sounds, which makes the small things matter. Double consonants change meaning ("nono" is ninth, "nonno" is grandfather), and a written accent moves the stress to the end of a word ("città", "perché", "lunedì"). A call script also has to choose between tu and Lei: banks, clinics and utilities address customers as Lei, while many apps and retailers now say tu. The samples on this page include both, read by Isabella, a native Italian platform voice, and the playground opens with a Lei call.

Spoken Italian varies by region more than the written language suggests. A caller in Naples, Milan or Palermo has a distinct accent and may slip into dialect words, and Italian-speaking Switzerland has its own vocabulary ("azione" for a sale, "natel" for a mobile phone). If your customers should hear a local accent, clone a speaker from 10 seconds, and keep that voice for German and French in Switzerland too.

Use cases

Italian voice use cases

Healthcare booking reminders

Clinics, labs and private practices across Italy remind patients of appointments and test dates.

Utilities and telecom customer service

Energy, gas and phone providers handle routine calls about bills, readings and payments in a courteous Lei register.

Tourism and hospitality

Hotels and tour operators confirm bookings with Italian guests, and use the same voice in English or German for international ones.

Commercial use

Use Italian AI voice-overs on monetised channels

  • Use the audio in YouTube videos, Shorts, Instagram Reels, podcasts and ads, including on monetised channels.
  • This applies to the free tier and to paid credits. No attribution to Sonex Labs is needed.
  • You are responsible for your script, and for disclosing realistic synthetic content where a platform asks you to.

The full wording is in our terms of service.

YouTube

Can a channel with an AI voice be monetised?

Yes, AI voices are allowed. What YouTube limits is mass-produced, repetitive content: videos made from a template with little original work. Its July 2025 update renamed that rule from “repetitious” to “inauthentic” content (YouTube’s monetisation policies).

Write your own script, add your own research or editing, and keep one consistent voice for the channel. Where a realistic AI voice could mislead viewers, use YouTube’s altered or synthetic content label. The monetisation decision is always YouTube’s.

Voice cloning

Your own voice, speaking Italian

Clone your voice from a 10-second recording. Your clone speaks Italian, and every other language Pāṇini supports, in your own voice. The language comes from the text you type, so a clone recorded in English or Hindi can read a Italian script.

Your accent comes with it: a clone sounds like you speaking Italian, not like a different native speaker. Every free account includes one voice clone. Clone only your own voice, or a voice whose owner has agreed.

How voice cloning works

API

Italian TTS API

One request returns Italian audio as MP3. The language is detected from the text, so no language setting is needed. Pāṇini TTS starts streaming audio in under 200 ms (time to first byte).

Yes, after free sign-up. The playground on this page plays audio in your browser only, up to 220 characters at a time, so you can check the voice first. Sign up free (10,000 characters and one voice clone, no card): the dashboard saves each clip as a WAV file with Download audio, and the API returns MP3 when you set "output_format": "mp3".

Yes. It reads whichever form you write; most banks, clinics and utilities use Lei.

It reads standard Italian spelling, including double consonants and accented final vowels. Keep the accents in your text, and check names in the audio before sending at scale.

Yes. Isabella, who reads these samples, is a native Italian voice. Any Sonex Labs voice can also speak Italian, and a cloned voice carries across languages.

$0.03125 per 1,000 characters, the same as every language. The first 10,000 characters and one voice clone are free, with no card.

Yes. Audio you generate, on the free tier or with paid credits, can be used on monetised YouTube channels, Shorts, Reels and in ads, with no attribution. YouTube limits mass-produced, repetitive videos, not AI voices, so write your own script and keep your edits original. The monetisation decision is YouTube's.

The audio you generate is yours to use, including commercially, with no attribution and no royalties to Sonex Labs. You are responsible for the script itself: if you read someone else's text, you need their permission.

Yes. A Sonex voice clone is not tied to the language it was recorded in. Type a Italian script and your clone reads it in your own voice, with Italian pronunciation. Your natural accent carries over, so it sounds like you speaking Italian.
