Russian AI voice generator

Aleksandr, a native Russian platform voice, reads the playground above. Any Sonex Labs voice can also read Russian, keeping its own accent, and a voice cloned from a 10-second recording of a Russian speaker carries that speaker's accent.

Free Russian text to speech: what you get

  • Play up to 220 characters of Russian at a time in the playground above, with no account.
  • Sign up free for 10,000 characters and one voice clone, no card required.
  • After sign-up, get MP3 from the API or download clips from the dashboard.
  • After the free characters, $0.03125 per 1,000 characters, the same rate for every language.

Convert Russian text to audio (MP3)

Sign up free, then send Russian text to the API with "output_format": "mp3" and save the file, or generate clips in the dashboard and download them. Scripts longer than the playground's 220 characters work the same way.

About Russian

How Russian speech is read

Russian stress is free and unmarked. It can fall on any syllable and changes meaning: "за́мок" is a castle, "замо́к" is a lock. Ordinary text never shows it, and many writers replace ё with е, which hides the sound entirely ("все" or "всё"). Numbers are harder still, because they decline with case: "две тысячи рублей", "с пятнадцатого числа", "до двадцати одного часа". The samples on this page are read by Aleksandr, a native Russian platform voice.

Russian is also a working language far beyond Russia. In Almaty, Bishkek or Tashkent, banks, telecoms and delivery services often run customer service in both Russian and Kazakh, Kyrgyz or Uzbek, and many callers mix the two. Formal address matters: a service call uses вы, not ты, and often the customer's name and patronymic. Pāṇini reads code-mixed text in one voice, so the same voice can answer in Russian and then in English or Turkish.

Commercial use

Use Russian AI voice-overs on monetised channels

  • Use the audio in YouTube videos, Shorts, Instagram Reels, podcasts and ads, including on monetised channels.
  • This applies to the free tier and to paid credits. No attribution to Sonex Labs is needed.
  • You are responsible for your script, and for disclosing realistic synthetic content where a platform asks you to.

YouTube

Can a channel with an AI voice be monetised?

Yes, AI voices are allowed. What YouTube limits is mass-produced, repetitive content: videos made from a template with little original work. Its July 2025 update renamed that rule from “repetitious” to “inauthentic” content (YouTube’s monetisation policies).

Write your own script, add your own research or editing, and keep one consistent voice for the channel. Where a realistic AI voice could mislead viewers, use YouTube’s altered or synthetic content label. The monetisation decision is always YouTube’s.

Voice cloning

Your own voice, speaking Russian

Clone your voice from a 10-second recording. Your clone speaks Russian, and every other language Pāṇini supports, in your own voice. The language comes from the text you type, so a clone recorded in English or Hindi can read a Russian script.

Your accent comes with it: a clone sounds like you speaking Russian, not like a different native speaker. Every free account includes one voice clone. Clone only your own voice, or a voice whose owner has agreed.

API

Russian TTS API

One request returns Russian audio as MP3. The language is detected from the text, so no language setting is needed. Pāṇini TTS starts streaming audio in under 200 ms (time to first byte).

Yes, after free sign-up. The playground on this page plays audio in your browser only, up to 220 characters at a time, so you can check the voice first. Sign up free (10,000 characters and one voice clone, no card): the dashboard saves each clip as a WAV file with Download audio, and the API returns MP3 when you set "output_format": "mp3".

It reads standard Russian text with natural stress. Words that are spelled the same but stressed differently, and names, are worth checking in the audio before sending at scale.

Writing amounts and dates as you want them said, such as "15 ноября" or "две тысячи рублей", gives the most reliable result.

Yes. Aleksandr, who reads these samples, is a native Russian voice. Any Sonex Labs voice can also speak Russian, and a cloned voice carries across languages.

$0.03125 per 1,000 characters, the same as every language. The first 10,000 characters and one voice clone are free, with no card.

Yes. Audio you generate, on the free tier or with paid credits, can be used on monetised YouTube channels, Shorts, Reels and in ads, with no attribution. YouTube limits mass-produced, repetitive videos, not AI voices, so write your own script and keep your edits original. The monetisation decision is YouTube's.

The audio you generate is yours to use, including commercially, with no attribution and no royalties to Sonex Labs. You are responsible for the script itself: if you read someone else's text, you need their permission.

Yes. A Sonex voice clone is not tied to the language it was recorded in. Type a Russian script and your clone reads it in your own voice, with Russian pronunciation. Your natural accent carries over, so it sounds like you speaking Russian.
