Assamese AI voice generator

Dipannita, a native Assamese platform voice, reads the playground above. Any Sonex Labs voice can also read Assamese, keeping its own accent, and a voice cloned from a 10-second recording of a Assamese speaker carries that speaker's accent.

About Assamese

How Assamese speech is read

Assamese is written in the same Eastern Nagari script as Bengali, with two letters of its own, ৰ and ৱ, but it does not sound like Bengali. The letters স, শ and ষ are usually spoken as a velar fricative, like the ch in Scottish "loch", so অসম is said "Oxom", and Assamese has no separate dental and retroflex t and d. Assamese text read with Bengali sounds is understood, but it sounds like an outsider talking. Every sample on this page is read by Dipannita, a native Assamese platform voice.

Assamese also has three levels of "you": আপুনি for respect, তুমি for familiarity and তই for close friends and family, and the verb changes with each. A customer call should stay in the আপুনি forms, such as আপোনাৰ (your) and আহিব (please come). Reminders from clinics, banks and lenders in Assam also borrow English words like appointment, OTP and loan, which Pāṇini reads inside the Assamese sentence in the same voice.

Assamese and Bengali

How Assamese differs from Bengali

Assamese read with Bengali sounds is understood, but it sounds like an outsider talking. The playground on this page uses Dipannita, a native Assamese voice.

Letters
Assamese writes ৰ and ৱ, which Bengali does not use; Bengali writes র and ব.
The "x" sound
স, শ and ষ are usually said like the ch in Scottish "loch", so অসম is "Oxom"; Bengali says them as s or sh.
T and d
Assamese has no separate dental and retroflex t and d, which Bengali keeps apart.
Saying no
Assamese puts the negative before the verb, as in নাযাওঁ (I don't go), where Bengali says যাই না.

Use cases

Assamese voice use cases

Assamese narration for scheme announcements, news explainers and learning content.

Commercial use

Use Assamese AI voice-overs on monetised channels

  • Use the audio in YouTube videos, Shorts, Instagram Reels, podcasts and ads, including on monetised channels.
  • This applies to the free tier and to paid credits. No attribution to Sonex Labs is needed.
  • You are responsible for your script, and for disclosing realistic synthetic content where a platform asks you to.

YouTube

Can a channel with an AI voice be monetised?

Yes, AI voices are allowed. What YouTube limits is mass-produced, repetitive content: videos made from a template with little original work. Its July 2025 update renamed that rule from “repetitious” to “inauthentic” content (YouTube’s monetisation policies).

Write your own script, add your own research or editing, and keep one consistent voice for the channel. Where a realistic AI voice could mislead viewers, use YouTube’s altered or synthetic content label. The monetisation decision is always YouTube’s.

Voice cloning

Your own voice, speaking Assamese

Clone your voice from a 10-second recording. Your clone speaks Assamese, and every other language Pāṇini supports, in your own voice. The language comes from the text you type, so a clone recorded in English or Hindi can read a Assamese script.

Your accent comes with it: a clone sounds like you speaking Assamese, not like a different native speaker. Every free account includes one voice clone. Clone only your own voice, or a voice whose owner has agreed.

How voice cloning works

API

Assamese TTS API

One request returns Assamese audio as MP3. The language is detected from the text, so no language setting is needed. Pāṇini TTS starts streaming audio in under 200 ms (time to first byte).
