Bodo AI voice generator

There is no native Bodo platform voice yet, so the playground uses Priya, a voice recorded in another language: the Bodo text is read correctly, in that voice's accent. For a local accent, clone a native Bodo speaker from a 10-second recording and use that voice for every clip.

Free Bodo text to speech: what you get

  • Play up to 220 characters of Bodo at a time in the playground above, with no account.
  • Sign up free for 10,000 characters and one voice clone, no card required.
  • After sign-up, get MP3 from the API or download clips from the dashboard.
  • After the free characters, $0.03125 per 1,000 characters, the same rate for every language.

Convert Bodo text to audio (MP3)

Sign up free, then send Bodo text to the API with "output_format": "mp3" and save the file, or generate clips in the dashboard and download them. Scripts longer than the playground's 220 characters work the same way.

About Bodo

How Bodo speech is read

Bodo is a Tibeto-Burman language, not a relative of Hindi or Assamese, and it has been written in Latin, Bengali-Assamese and Devanagari over the last century. Devanagari is the script the Bodo Sahitya Sabha settled on and the one used in schools and the press today, so that is how the samples on this page are written. Words like खुलुमबाय, the everyday Bodo greeting, and नोंथां, the respectful "you", look familiar on the page to a Hindi reader but sound nothing like Hindi.

Bodo also uses pitch to tell some words apart, and Devanagari does not mark it. On a phone call, where the listener cannot reread the message, a wrong pitch can make a word harder to catch. There is no dedicated Bodo platform voice yet: the samples are read by Priya, a Hindi voice. For the most natural Bodo, clone a voice from 10 seconds of a native Bodo speaker; the clone keeps that speaker's accent.

Commercial use

Use Bodo AI voice-overs on monetised channels

  • Use the audio in YouTube videos, Shorts, Instagram Reels, podcasts and ads, including on monetised channels.
  • This applies to the free tier and to paid credits. No attribution to Sonex Labs is needed.
  • You are responsible for your script, and for disclosing realistic synthetic content where a platform asks you to.

YouTube

Can a channel with an AI voice be monetised?

Yes, AI voices are allowed. What YouTube limits is mass-produced, repetitive content: videos made from a template with little original work. Its July 2025 update renamed that rule from “repetitious” to “inauthentic” content (YouTube’s monetisation policies).

Write your own script, add your own research or editing, and keep one consistent voice for the channel. Where a realistic AI voice could mislead viewers, use YouTube’s altered or synthetic content label. The monetisation decision is always YouTube’s.

Voice cloning

Your own voice, speaking Bodo

Clone your voice from a 10-second recording. Your clone speaks Bodo, and every other language Pāṇini supports, in your own voice. The language comes from the text you type, so a clone recorded in English or Hindi can read a Bodo script.

Your accent comes with it: a clone sounds like you speaking Bodo, not like a different native speaker. Every free account includes one voice clone. Clone only your own voice, or a voice whose owner has agreed.

How voice cloning works

API

Bodo TTS API

One request returns Bodo audio as MP3. The language is detected from the text, so no language setting is needed. Pāṇini TTS starts streaming audio in under 200 ms (time to first byte).
