Konkani AI voice generator

There is no native Konkani platform voice yet, so the playground uses Riya, a voice recorded in another language: the Konkani text is read correctly, in that voice's accent. For a local accent, clone a native Konkani speaker from a 10-second recording and use that voice for every clip.

Free Konkani text to speech: what you get

  • Play up to 220 characters of Konkani at a time in the playground above, with no account.
  • Sign up free for 10,000 characters and one voice clone, no card required.
  • After sign-up, get MP3 from the API or download clips from the dashboard.
  • After the free characters, $0.03125 per 1,000 characters, the same rate for every language.

Convert Konkani text to audio (MP3)

Sign up free, then send Konkani text to the API with "output_format": "mp3" and save the file, or generate clips in the dashboard and download them. Scripts longer than the playground's 220 characters work the same way.

About Konkani

How Konkani speech is read

Konkani is unusual among Indian languages in being written in four scripts by different communities: Devanagari in Goa's schools and government, Roman (Romi) in much of Goa's church and popular writing, Kannada script in Mangaluru and Udupi, and Malayalam script in Kerala. The samples on this page use Devanagari, the official script. If your customers write Romi Konkani, test a sample before relying on it.

Spoken Konkani also carries everyday Portuguese loanwords that Marathi and Hindi do not, such as दोतोर for "doctor", alongside its own forms like हांव for "I" and फाल्यां for "tomorrow". There is no dedicated Konkani platform voice yet: Riya, a Hindi voice, reads these samples. For a voice that sounds like Goa or Mangaluru, clone one from 10 seconds of a native speaker.

YouTube

Can a channel with an AI voice be monetised?

Yes, AI voices are allowed. What YouTube limits is mass-produced, repetitive content: videos made from a template with little original work. Its July 2025 update renamed that rule from “repetitious” to “inauthentic” content (YouTube’s monetisation policies).

Write your own script, add your own research or editing, and keep one consistent voice for the channel. Where a realistic AI voice could mislead viewers, use YouTube’s altered or synthetic content label. The monetisation decision is always YouTube’s.

Voice cloning

Your own voice, speaking Konkani

Clone your voice from a 10-second recording. Your clone speaks Konkani, and every other language Pāṇini supports, in your own voice. The language comes from the text you type, so a clone recorded in English or Hindi can read a Konkani script.

Your accent comes with it: a clone sounds like you speaking Konkani, not like a different native speaker. Every free account includes one voice clone. Clone only your own voice, or a voice whose owner has agreed.

How voice cloning works

API

Konkani TTS API

One request returns Konkani audio as MP3. The language is detected from the text, so no language setting is needed. Pāṇini TTS starts streaming audio in under 200 ms (time to first byte).

Yes. A Sonex voice clone is not tied to the language it was recorded in. Type a Konkani script and your clone reads it in your own voice, with Konkani pronunciation. Your natural accent carries over, so it sounds like you speaking Konkani.
