Rules to check before calling

  • Never ask for OTPs, PINs, passwords or full card numbers on a call; PCI DSS also bars keeping card security codes in call recordings after authorisation. Read the rules
  • From 13 May 2027, a consent request must come with a notice of what data you collect and why, how to withdraw consent and how to complain (DPDP Act, section 5). Read the rules
  • Banks, NBFCs, insurers and other regulated financial firms must make these service calls from 1600-series numbers. Read the rules
