About Iraqi (Mesopotamian) Arabic

How Iraqi (Mesopotamian) Arabic speech is read

Iraqi Arabic sounds unlike any other dialect. In Baghdad and the south, ق is a hard g and ك often becomes ch, so writers sometimes use the Persian letters گ and چ, as in "گال" (he said) and "چان" (was). Iraqis ask "شلونك؟" (how are you?) and "شكو ماكو؟" (what's new?), using "أكو" and "ماكو" for "there is" and "there isn't". "هواية" means a lot and "هسّه" means now, where MSA says كثيرًا and الآن. Mosul and other northern cities speak a separate qeltu variety that keeps the q sound.

Centuries of contact left Persian and Turkish words in daily speech, and Iraqi customer messages now add English too: "الكارت", "الرصيد" next to "top-up", "الأونلاين". Pāṇini reads that mix in one voice. Iraqi listeners spot an outside accent instantly, and because Iraqi is less familiar to other Arabs than Egyptian or Levantine, a call in the caller's own dialect earns more trust than MSA.

YouTube

Can a channel with an AI voice be monetised?

Yes, AI voices are allowed. What YouTube limits is mass-produced, repetitive content: videos made from a template with little original work. Its July 2025 update renamed that rule from “repetitious” to “inauthentic” content (YouTube’s monetisation policies).

Write your own script, add your own research or editing, and keep one consistent voice for the channel. Where a realistic AI voice could mislead viewers, use YouTube’s altered or synthetic content label. The monetisation decision is always YouTube’s.

Voice cloning

Your own voice, speaking Iraqi (Mesopotamian) Arabic

Clone your voice from a 10-second recording. Your clone speaks Iraqi (Mesopotamian) Arabic, and every other language Pāṇini supports, in your own voice. The language comes from the text you type, so a clone recorded in English or Hindi can read a Iraqi (Mesopotamian) Arabic script.

Your accent comes with it: a clone sounds like you speaking Iraqi (Mesopotamian) Arabic, not like a different native speaker. Every free account includes one voice clone. Clone only your own voice, or a voice whose owner has agreed.
