Indonesian AI voice generator

There is no native Indonesian platform voice yet, so the playground uses Liz, a voice recorded in another language: the Indonesian text is read correctly, in that voice's accent. For a local accent, clone a native Indonesian speaker from a 10-second recording and use that voice for every clip.

Free Indonesian text to speech: what you get

  • Play up to 220 characters of Indonesian at a time in the playground above, with no account.
  • Sign up free for 10,000 characters and one voice clone, no card required.
  • After sign-up, get MP3 from the API or download clips from the dashboard.
  • After the free characters, $0.03125 per 1,000 characters, the same rate for every language.

Convert Indonesian text to audio (MP3)

Sign up free, then send Indonesian text to the API with "output_format": "mp3" and save the file, or generate clips in the dashboard and download them. Scripts longer than the playground's 220 characters work the same way.

About Indonesian

How Indonesian speech is read

Indonesian is written in the Latin alphabet with almost no accents, and spelling follows sound closely, so the hard part for a voice is not the letters but the register. Formal Indonesian ("Anda", "terima kasih atas perhatiannya") sounds like an announcement. Customer calls use softer forms: Kak or Bapak/Ibu to address the listener, ya and dong at the end of a sentence, and short words like udah (already) and nggak (no) in chat. The samples on this page sit between the two, as a friendly call-centre agent would speak.

Indonesia is one of the largest e-commerce, ride-hailing and digital-wallet markets in Asia, and its customer messages are full of English: checkout, voucher, top up, cashback, COD. Many Indonesians speak a regional language at home and use Indonesian with businesses, so a clear, neutral Indonesian voice reaches buyers from Medan to Makassar.

Commercial use

Use Indonesian AI voice-overs on monetised channels

  • Use the audio in YouTube videos, Shorts, Instagram Reels, podcasts and ads, including on monetised channels.
  • This applies to the free tier and to paid credits. No attribution to Sonex Labs is needed.
  • You are responsible for your script, and for disclosing realistic synthetic content where a platform asks you to.

YouTube

Can a channel with an AI voice be monetised?

Yes, AI voices are allowed. What YouTube limits is mass-produced, repetitive content: videos made from a template with little original work. Its July 2025 update renamed that rule from “repetitious” to “inauthentic” content (YouTube’s monetisation policies).

Write your own script, add your own research or editing, and keep one consistent voice for the channel. Where a realistic AI voice could mislead viewers, use YouTube’s altered or synthetic content label. The monetisation decision is always YouTube’s.

Voice cloning

Your own voice, speaking Indonesian

Clone your voice from a 10-second recording. Your clone speaks Indonesian, and every other language Pāṇini supports, in your own voice. The language comes from the text you type, so a clone recorded in English or Hindi can read a Indonesian script.

Your accent comes with it: a clone sounds like you speaking Indonesian, not like a different native speaker. Every free account includes one voice clone. Clone only your own voice, or a voice whose owner has agreed.

How voice cloning works

API

Indonesian TTS API

One request returns Indonesian audio as MP3. The language is detected from the text, so no language setting is needed. Pāṇini TTS starts streaming audio in under 200 ms (time to first byte).

Yes. Audio you generate, on the free tier or with paid credits, can be used on monetised YouTube channels, Shorts, Reels and in ads, with no attribution. Yes. A Sonex voice clone is not tied to the language it was recorded in. Type a Indonesian script and your clone reads it in your own voice, with Indonesian pronunciation. Your natural accent carries over, so it sounds like you speaking Indonesian.
