Egyptian Arabic text to speech: natural AI voices and API

Pāṇini TTS reads Egyptian Arabic, the Cairo Arabic most Arabic speakers recognise, in Arabic script; the samples on this page are read by Tariq, an Arabic voice.

Egyptian Arabic AI voice generator

There is no native Egyptian Arabic platform voice yet, so the playground uses Tariq, a voice recorded in another language: the Egyptian Arabic text is read correctly, in that voice's accent. For a local accent, clone a native Egyptian Arabic speaker from a 10-second recording and use that voice for every clip.

Free Egyptian Arabic text to speech: what you get

  • Play up to 220 characters of Egyptian Arabic at a time in the playground above, with no account.
  • Sign up free for 10,000 characters and one voice clone, no card required.
  • After sign-up, get MP3 from the API or download clips from the dashboard.
  • After the free characters, $0.03125 per 1,000 characters, the same rate for every language.

Convert Egyptian Arabic text to audio (MP3)

Sign up free, then send Egyptian Arabic text to the API with "output_format": "mp3" and save the file, or generate clips in the dashboard and download them. Scripts longer than the playground's 220 characters work the same way.

About Egyptian Arabic

How Egyptian Arabic speech is read

Egyptian Arabic is the most widely understood dialect in the Arab world, thanks to decades of Egyptian films, series and songs. In Cairo, ج is a hard g ("جميل" is gameel) and ق is usually a glottal stop ("قلب" sounds like 'alb). Everyday words differ from MSA at once: "إزيك؟" (how are you?), "عايز" (I want, MSA أريد), "دلوقتي" (now, MSA الآن), "معلش" (never mind, sorry) and the polite "يا فندم" (sir, madam) heard on every service line.

Egyptian customer messages are full of English: "الأوردر" (order), "الكاش", "الفيزا", "الشحن" mixed with "delivery". Franco-Arabic, Arabic typed in Latin letters with digits such as 3 for ع, is especially common in Egypt, in chat and in customer messages. An Egyptian caller hears a Gulf or MSA voice as foreign or stiff; "حضرتك" and "يا فندم" in a Cairo accent sound like a real agent. The platform's Arabic voices are Modern Standard Arabic voices, so for a Cairo accent clone an Egyptian speaker from a 10-second sample.

Commercial use

Use Egyptian Arabic AI voice-overs on monetised channels

  • Use the audio in YouTube videos, Shorts, Instagram Reels, podcasts and ads, including on monetised channels.
  • This applies to the free tier and to paid credits. No attribution to Sonex Labs is needed.
  • You are responsible for your script, and for disclosing realistic synthetic content where a platform asks you to.

YouTube

Can a channel with an AI voice be monetised?

Yes, AI voices are allowed. What YouTube limits is mass-produced, repetitive content: videos made from a template with little original work. Its July 2025 update renamed that rule from “repetitious” to “inauthentic” content (YouTube’s monetisation policies).

Write your own script, add your own research or editing, and keep one consistent voice for the channel. Where a realistic AI voice could mislead viewers, use YouTube’s altered or synthetic content label. The monetisation decision is always YouTube’s.

Voice cloning

Your own voice, speaking Egyptian Arabic

Clone your voice from a 10-second recording. Your clone speaks Egyptian Arabic, and every other language Pāṇini supports, in your own voice. The language comes from the text you type, so a clone recorded in English or Hindi can read a Egyptian Arabic script.

Your accent comes with it: a clone sounds like you speaking Egyptian Arabic, not like a different native speaker. Every free account includes one voice clone. Clone only your own voice, or a voice whose owner has agreed.

How voice cloning works

API

Egyptian Arabic TTS API

One request returns Egyptian Arabic audio as MP3. The language is detected from the text, so no language setting is needed. Pāṇini TTS starts streaming audio in under 200 ms (time to first byte).

Yes. Audio you generate, on the free tier or with paid credits, can be used on monetised YouTube channels, Shorts, Reels and in ads, with no attribution. Yes. A Sonex voice clone is not tied to the language it was recorded in. Type a Egyptian Arabic script and your clone reads it in your own voice, with Egyptian Arabic pronunciation. Your natural accent carries over, so it sounds like you speaking Egyptian Arabic.
